Hong Kong Red Cross "Impact Evaluation Study on Youth UP – a training program for youth as agent for change" (March 8, 2026)
On 8 March, the Hong Kong Red Cross held the closing ceremony of the "Youth UP – a training program for youth as agent for change", a three-year initiative funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust that engaged 652 post-secondary students. HKBU’s Centre for the Advancement of Social Sciences Research (CASR) served as the independent evaluation partner, designing and administering baseline, post-programme and 6‑month follow-up surveys and conducting data analysis. Findings shared at the ceremony showed significant gains across key outcomes—including first-aid knowledge, self-confidence and intention to serve—with many improvements sustained at follow-up; nearly 90% of participants reported enhanced interpersonal relationships and personal qualities.Press news:
