Greenpeace Survey on Nuclear Energy (January 28, 2014)

Centre for the Advancement of Social Sciences Research was commissioned by Greenpeace to conduct a telephone survey on Nuclear Energy in December 2013. More than 1,000 respondents aged 33 or above were succcessfully interviewed. The results showed that Hong Kong people concern most on the reliability and safety of the electricity supply, the two items scored 7 out of 10 marks which are higher than the marks for environment protection and price of electricity supply. More than 40% of the respondents are willing to pay additional 20% electricity fee every month for buying other electricity which is more expensive to replace the current energy supplied from Daya Bay.
